A one-off opportunity to visit a modern food production site to gain an update on career opportunities in the sector and take away teaching resources linked to the curriculum.

The day will be lead by STEM Ambassadors from the Chilled Food Association.

All attendees will be asked to complete a simple health questionnaire on arrival and jewellery must be removed (except a wedding band) to enter the production area.

Please note there are only a handful of spaces available and we will be operating a reserve list if interest is high.

Melton Foods is a purpose built sandwich facility owned by Samworth Brothers standing in 10 acres of land on the outskirts of Melton Mowbray.
They supply some of the major retailers across main stores, cafes, petrol forecourts and franchise partnerships as well as products for the highly successful Ginsters brand and a number of food service outlets.

The primary focus of the business is producing high quality sandwiches as well as wraps, hot eating Paninis, Toasties and innovative fresh chilled snacks.
Also within the bakery they have a hand assembly facility that produces speciality craft products such as crostini, brushetta and many other lines perfect for party food, platters and entertaining.
