A FREE networking event for STEM Ambassadors and teachers

Come along and find out how you could be involved in the ‘4×4 in Schools’ Technology Challenge and the ‘F1 in Schools’ Technology Challenge competitions.

LEBC in conjunction with ‘Engineering in Motion’ are holding an information session for teachers and STEM Ambassadors on the organisation’s popular competitions.

This is an opportunity to come along and find out all about the schemes,
including a hands on demonstration, and information on how you could get involved.

Teachers:
The event will give you the opportunity to get to grips with the resources and competitions and try them out on the night. You will also have the opportunity to meet local STEM Ambassadors.

STEM Ambassadors:
STEM Ambassadors, come along to see how you can support these fun and challenging competitions in local schools.

This event is one of a series of events held throughout the year to give teachers and STEM Ambassadors the opportunity to informally network and promote the sharing of ideas to help inspire the next generation of Scientists, Technologists, Engineers and Mathematicians.

4 × 4 Challenge

The 4×4 in Schools Technology Challenge is a challenge aimed at key stage 3, 4 and 5 students.
The challenge involves 4 to 6 team members working together to design and build a radio controlled 4-wheel-drive (4×4) vehicle,
to set specifications, that can successfully negotiate a specially designed test track that emulates real life and what a full scale 4×4 vehicle can do.
The challenge is an excellent opportunity for young people to work in teams and gain an awareness and understanding of project management using key skills.

F1 Challenge

F1 in Schools is a multi-disciplinary challenge in which teams of students aged 9 to 19 deploy CAD/CAM software
to collaborate, design, analyse, manufacture, test, and then race miniature gas powered balsa wood F1 cars.

Places are limited, a swift response is recommended. Please note that the galleries at the Space Centre will not be open.
