Hands on STEM Activities for Teachers and STEM Ambassadors

Get to grips with Science, Engineering and Maths based activities, this networking event for STEM Ambassadors and Teachers promises to be a fun and informative session.


Teachers:
This event will give you the opportunity to try out STEM activities to test out their their suitability for the clasroomand to discuss with STEM Ambassadors, the practicalities of visiting your school to deliver the activities.


STEM Ambassadors:
This event will give you the opportunity to try out STEM activities to test out their accuracy and relevance to the world of work and University study, including discussing with teachers the suitability of the activities for the clasroom.


Activities will include:

  • Design based Engineering tasks from the IED (Institute of Engineering Designers)

  • Royal Academy of Engineering activities including:
    Simple circuits
    Thermocromatic paints
    Heat reactions – protecting precious cargo
    Oil extraction
    Pylon Challenge

  • K’nex activities including bridge building

 

Following on from this session we hope to match STEM Ambassadoras and Teachers to enable you to run one or more of these activities with students.

This event is open to all STEM Ambassadors and Teachers who would like to run practical sessions.
