Nuffield Bursary Celebration

British Geological Survey, Keyworth
Tue 4th October 2011, 4:00pm til 6:00pm

The Nuffield Foundation Science Bursaries for Schools and Colleges has once again had a successful year with 51 students from across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, carrying out 4-6 week STEM research projects over the summer holidays. The projects give students a chance to work alongside practising scientists and engineers, contributing to research or development projects in universities, industry, field centres, and research institutions. The scheme is open to anyone in a school or college who is half way through an advanced-level STEM programme, which may be academic or vocational.

We are holding a celebration evening for the students at the British Geological Survey, Keyworth on Tuesday 4th October. This is an opportunity for students to display the work that they have done over the summer. We are looking for Ambassadors to come along and help us judge the students’ work for their CREST accreditation. Full training will be given and refreshments will be provided. The event will conclude with a presentation and congratulation to all students.
