Rolls Royce Materials Masterclass for KS4&5 teachers

1 day at the University of Birmingham and 1 day at Rolls Royce, Derby.

An excellent CPD opportunity which is open to secondary and Post 16 teachers nationwide. The course will have inputs from cutting edge Materials Science academics and Rolls-Royce staff, making materials science relevant for KS4 and Post 16 science.

Science Learning Centre West Midlands have alerted us to an excellent CPD opportunity which is open to secondary and Post 16 teachers nationwide. They are organising a ‘Materials Masterclass’ with Birmingham University, Rolls Royce and The Worshipful Company of Armourers and Brasiers.

It is a two day course being held at both the University of Birmingham and Rolls Royce, Derby.


The course will have inputs from cutting edge Materials Science academics and Rolls-Royce staff, making materials science relevant for KS4 and Post 16 science, with all travel, food and accommodation for the night between two days included for £50.

In addition, there will be an excellent ‘goodie bag’ per participant (SEP materials, Rolls-Royce DVDs etc) as well as free Schools Affiliate Scheme membership to the IOM3 (Institute of Materials, Mining and Minerals) for each institution represented.
