Skills Show 2012 - Call for Speakers

NEC Birmingham
Thu 15th November 2012 (9:00am) - Sat 17th November 2012 (5:00pm)

From 15th-17th November, 100,000 young people will make their way to The NEC Birmingham for The Skills Show – The UK’s biggest skills and vocational careers event.

This unique annual celebration will inspire the fashion designers, web developers and engineers of tomorrow, with exciting opportunities in further education, careers and Apprenticeships.

Speakers are sought for their Spotlight Speaking sessions.

We are looking for speakers who are passionate about their industry and can give visitors the low down on careers in skills and the opportunities that are out there waiting for them.

Spotlight Speakers will be offered two 15-minute talks over one of the Show day. Each talk needs to immediately engage with students, helping them to ground their plans, realise their potential or offer an inspiring insight into the world of opportunities around them.

Our core audience will be 14-21 year olds, so the speakers need to engage with this age group and tell their story in an animated, interesting and preferably innovative way. Note that although the audience will go up to 21 year-olds, you can choose which the age group you work with, so as STEM Ambassadors we ask that you choose to work with the 19-and-under cohort.
