STEM Connections - A networking event for teachers and STEM Ambassadors

National Space Centre, Leicester
Thu 21st June 2012, 4:00pm til 6:00pm

This event is one of a series held throughout the year to give teachers and STEM Ambassadors the opportunity to informally network.

  • New STEM Exhibit – Have exclusive access to try out a new STEM careers
exhibit at the National Space Centre.
  • Networking – Network with STEM teachers and STEM Ambassadors.
  • Free Support – Find out about the free STEM support available from LEBC.

The event aims to promote the sharing of ideas to help inspire the next generation of Scientists, Technologists, Engineers and Mathematicians.

Research and experience shows that by meeting people working in STEM industries students find it easier to grasp theories and are often more motivated to achieve when they see the real world application of what they are learning in school.

STEM Ambassadors already confirmed as attending include:

  • NHS Scientist specialising in Blood Transfusion and Haematology Science.
  • PhD in Radiochemistry student from Loughborough University.
  • UK Manufacturing Improvement Specialist at 3M, with expertise in Mechanical Engineering
  • Research and Development Facilities Work Team Leader at 3M, with expertise as an analytical chemist
  • Education Lead at the National Space Centre
  • Microbiology technician with expertise in Food Safety and testing of food for retailers

Places are limited, a swift response is recommended.
