Teacher CPD - Promoting STEM Careers in your Classroom

The National Science Learning Centre is running a FREE course on the 28 May 2012 for STEM teachers and careers information advice and guidance specialists on Promoting Careers from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). Supply cover costs are available.

During this two day conference, participants will explore how awareness can be raised about exciting STEM career opportunities available to young people.

They will build on and strengthen existing practice on how to motivate young people and promote their interest in STEM careers. The conference will highlight how STEM qualifications give an advantage in today’s competitive job market, even in non-STEM related fields.

Participants will be able to:

  • use innovative ways to encourage young people to pursue STEM careers

  • review a range of organisations and information resources to promote STEM careers

  • learn from a variety of schools’ experiences through case studies and presentations
