Wonderful Water - CREST Award in a Day Challenge July 2012

Moat Community College, Leicester
Fri 6th July 2012, 8:30am til 3:00pm

CREST in a Day activities are designed to give students:

  • An opportunity to be creative in STEM subjects
  • An insight into careers with STEM
  • Meet people working in STEM industry
  • Develop PLTS and Enterprise skills

CREST (Creativity in Science and Technology) is Britain’s largest national award scheme for project work in the STEM subjects, giving young people the opportunity to explore real projects in an exciting way.

A CREST in a day event allows students to achieve a Bronze CREST Award through a series of activities all relating to one theme – in this case WATER.

We are looking STEM Ambassadors who can support the students to work in teams to problem solve, carry out hands on practical investigations, record results and make a presentation on their findings.

Activities are fun and fast paced and include:

  • Making Bath Bombs
  • Layering Liquids in a Density Tower
  • Analyse their own water usage
  • Create a presentation on how to save water
