Getting Students Ready for Work

St. Paul's Catholic School, Evington
Mon 2nd July 2012 (8:00am) - Tue 3rd July 2012 (1:30pm)

The WOW Factor – Are you (the students) ready for work?

The “Are you ready for work” event will see students become delegates and attend a conference organised by the school and LEBC.

The conference is designed to raise awareness of employability skills to the Year 10 students and to give them the opportunity to talk to representatives from different sectors about the world of work and what it takes to be a success.

We are looking for volunteers to attend the event to give a 15 minute talk to the students about your job and the type of business that you work in.

Some of the things that would be useful for the students to know about are:

  • First impressions – how important are they?
  • Confidence and this helps in the workplace – building up self esteem
  • Presentation skills
  • How to network and why networking is important
  • Top tips to becoming employable
  • How to be a success and to continue that success in your chosen career

This event is being run over two days:
Monday 2nd July 2012
Tuesday 3rd July 2012

If you think you could support on one or both days then we would love to hear from you.
