Limehurst High School
Thu 19th May 2011, 8:30am til 3:00pm

CREST (Creativity in Science and Technology) is Britain’s largest national award scheme for project work in the STEM subjects, giving young people the opportunity to explore real world projects in an exciting way. A CREST in a day event allows students to achieve a Bronze CREST Award in a day through a series of activities all relating to one theme, giving students the opportunity to be creative in Science or Technology.

Curry Challenge involves activities all aimed to develop enterprise and STEM capabilities. Students will be split into 4 groups and will rotate around 4 workshops throughout the day. The day will start of with an introduction in the hall from LEBC and Bobby’s Restaurant, who will also be facilitating a demonstration. We will then move to classrooms where the workshops will begin.

We are looking for volunteers to facilitate a workshop throughout the course of the day. Workshops include; food miles, marketing a food business, making a curry and the science of food. Full training will be provided by LEBC beforehand so that you are familiar with the activity allocated to you.

If you are interested in volunteering for this event or would like to find out further information then please contact Fay Wilson on 0116 240 7000 or email .
