Training-Mentoring to raise achievement

A full day course (9.00 – 4.30) for mentors to define the role of the mentor and explore the ways people learn so that mentoring is effective.

By the end of the day mentors will have

  • identified a list of specific tasks to work on with their mentoring partners
  • a clear idea of the mentor’s responsibilities
  • gained an understanding of how people learn in different ways
  • an understanding of their own strengths
  • tried out some communication strategies and created a mentoring contract


This course is suitable for a senior leadership team member, pastoral staff and classroom teachers who want to mentor and support underachieving students, either through the pastoral system or using ‘aggressive mentoring’ techniques.

£105 per delegate. Refreshments and light lunch are included.

Other training dates available are: 19/11/10, 13/01/11, 21/06/11.

This course can be delivered at a school if there is sufficient demand from the schools and/or neighbouring schools.
